Kosar Dakhilalian (she/her)
Kosar is an emerging theatre artist, director, writer, and educator currently based in the city colonially known as St. Catharines. Kosar holds a BA in English, from University of Isfahan and an MA in Comparative Literature and Arts, from Brock University. Kosar views artistic spaces as potential sites of resistance: free from domination, yet capable of illuminating systems of power and oppression. Driven by a commitment to accessibility and with a passion for art activism, Kosar continues to explore ways in which performance, in its development, presentation, and continuation, can bring transformation, care, and connection. Kosar has years of experience as an anti-war activist, and her research background includes areas such as protest performance and theatricality in media representation of war and violence. Kosar is deeply inspired by the valuable contributions of OPIRG to both the community and the institution, and by the ways it bridges the two in mutually enriching ways. She wishes to contribute to nurturing and supporting the meaningful collective work of the OPIRG team.

Jem Barrel-Tower (they/them)
Jem is a white, queer, nonbinary person living on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Chonnonton, and Wendat Peoples in Niagara. Jem is a parent, casual artist/maker, therapist, and fat personal trainer. As a member and supporter of OPIRG Brock for several years, Jem is eager to support OPIRG in new and more consistent ways through a seat on the Board. Through OPIRG Brock, Jem hopes to strengthen the community’s resolve against growing white supremacy and alt-right organizing. Jem is eager to deepen connections with the OPIRG Brock community and contribute to the ongoing efforts to promote, expand, and preserve their work. Jem has been actively engaged in community organizing since 2021, most notably as a co-founder of Community Fridge Niagara. Their participation in community-based activism and mutual aid has largely centred food security, encampment support, and tenant organizing. Jem has over a decade of experience critically working in social services locally and holds a Master’s degree in Social Work.

Kaitlyn Moore (she/her)
I am eager to join the OPIRG Brock Board of Directors because I care deeply about creating meaningful change within both the campus and the wider community. OPIRG's focus on social, economic, and environmental justice strongly reflects my own values, and I view this role as a chance to contribute to current projects, build stronger community connections, and help ensure that the perspectives of students and community members remain central to decision-making. I have a strong background in community engagement, research, and advocacy that reflects my commitment to social and health equity. My experience includes presenting research at Brock University on temporary shelters in the Niagara Region, working as the client coordinator for the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Health Program at Quest, and volunteering at Southridge Shelter. I have also served on the Friendly Calls team with the Red Cross, and volunteered with the Urgent Service Access Team at Quest. My master’s thesis examines stigma in electronic health records for people who use drugs, reflecting my broader commitment to advancing health equity. Collectively, these experiences have prepared me to contribute meaningfully to OPIRG mission and support initiatives that foster positive change across campus and the wider community.
